WHAT TO DO IN MAZATLAN

Enjoy its sunsets
Mazatlán has unique sunsets, which you will not see very often and that will leave you impressed and marked for life by its beauty and color. You can go to the boardwalk to sit and enjoy this beautiful postcard.
Walk the Malecon
The sea is always present and the Mazatlán boardwalk is the second largest in the world and by large we mean long because it is no more and no less than 21 kilometers long. Going all the way round it may seem like too much, but the truth is that a multitude of businesses coexist in this space, from trendy nightclubs to the old Lighthouse, so you can make an intermediate stop whenever you want to have a drink, eat (yes, we have to say eat again) or simply rest enjoying the views or the sculptures that adorn the boardwalk in the Olas Altas beach area.
walk in pneumonia
Similar to a golf cart, the Pulmonía made its appearance through the streets of Mazatlán on December 20, 1965. Its creator, Mr. Miguel Ramírez Urquijo, better known as "El Chícharo", designed this vehicle with the certainty that it would have success. This vehicular novelty was opposed and criticized by the transport unions, who stated that they were unstable vehicles and that by being uncovered on all sides, users were exposed to contracting pneumonia. Unintentionally, it was his opponents who baptized the cart that fell in favor with Mazatlecos and tourists, who saw it as a refreshing novelty. Three years after taking to the streets, 100 units were already circulating. Today they are still circulating, with some adaptations to obtain more space and comfort, but always with the possibility of the air hitting your face and admiring the landscape without restrictions.
Visit the Aquarium
It is not necessary to travel with children to enjoy a visit to the aquarium. And the Mazatlán aquarium is one of the best to be able to observe marine life, both sweet and salty.
Climb to the top of the lighthouse
No, the Mazatlan lighthouse is not your typical lighthouse at the end of the boardwalk. If you want one of the best views you can get in this city, the lighthouse tour should be at the top of your list.
Located at the top of Cerro del Crestón, with an elevation of 152 m high, it is the lighthouse located at the highest natural height in the world, but be aware that we are talking about active lighthouses. It will take you 30 minutes (depending on your pace) to reach the top, but the views are worth it.
Gastronomy
On the Pacific coast you can savor its sea on all four sides. In Mazatlán you will find the freshest seafood and fish in all of Mexico. You can start by enjoying the buffet breakfasts in any of the hotels or palapas in Mazatlán and then continue along the boardwalk and any of its great restaurants.
Beaches
We have come to this country to enjoy the white sand beaches and just like on the Riviera Maya coast, here we will also find beautiful beaches where we can lie down to golden our skin and return home with a beautiful color or if you are one of those who They like the beach to practice sports, you have also come to the right place. Beaches like Gaviotas are very popular because the sea is calm and allows you to swim in peace and also because its width is always good for playing Beach Volleyball matches.
The islands
If you are in Mexico on a trip, do not hesitate to leave the peninsula. There are dozens of islands that deserve to be visited. Isla Venados, Isla Pájaros and Isla Lobos Marinos, in addition to having very picturesque names for us, are true virgin oases. You can visit them doing an excursion on your own by renting a kayak or a canoe or even a paddle surf at the hotel where you stay or you can book one of the guided excursions offered in the area. On these three islands, the existing fauna, both marine and avian, is well worth the visit.
Baluarte Bridge
This work located on the Mazatlán-Durango highway is one of the greatest achievements of Mexican engineering, being this the highest cable-stayed bridge in America and the second in the world. It is located 403 meters above the Baluarte River, joining the two sides of a ravine of the Sierra Madre Oriental. Its 520 meter span is also one of the largest in the world and is 1,124 meters long and has 4 lanes. It has become an attraction for national and foreign tourists who visit Mazatlán.
Archeological Museum
Mazatlan
This museum, inaugurated in 1989, works in a neoclassical building built at the beginning of the 20th century and contains a sample of pieces belonging to the different pre-Hispanic civilizations of Sinaloa and nearby territories. The museum exhibits a collection of petroglyphs, the funeral customs of pre-Columbian peoples, their work tools and weapons for defense and combat, and their lifestyles.
